Ingredients

  • 2 cup Peanut Shelled
  • 2 teaspoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Oil ( flavourless oil)
  • 2 pinch Salt (rock salt)

Instructions

  • On a low medium flame roast peanut for five minutes and keep it aside. Let it cool completely. When it is cooled, rub the peanut with both the palms and remove skin as it is shown in the picture.
  • The colour of the roasted peanut should be light brown and crisp.
  • Pulse the roasted peanut coarsely on a low speed in a food processer or electric mixer grinder. Using a spatula scrap the side of the jar and mix the coarse peanut powder.
  • Run the mixer on a medium speed for a minute until you achieve this consistency. Give a minute or two before you continue to grind the peanut.
  • Now add two pinch of rock salt and pulse 30 seconds.
  • The peanut butter is smooth and thick in consistency. For extra taste add 2 teaspoon of honey and pulse twice until honey combines well.
  • After adding honey the consistency will become slightly thick. Do not worry! To attain smooth creamy texture add one tablespoon of oil( flavourless oil).
  • Pulse it for twice or thrice until you get smooth creamy flowing Peanut butter.
  • Transfer the homemade peanut butter into an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 weeks in the refrigerator.
  • Adding 1 tablespoon of oil helps peanut butter from seizing up and becoming thick. It helps to achieve smooth creamy spreadable Homemade Peanut butter.

Notes

Roast Peanut to light brown or golden brown. Let it not turn to black. The taste turns bitter and, the color too changes.
Always do not run a food processer or mixer continuously as the machine gets hot. Give a break for 5 minutes when it turns hot.
When adding honey, the peanut mixture starts to clump. It is normal!
So, add a teaspoon of oil to get creamy peanut butter. You can add Maple syrup in place of honey.
