Chicken lollipop are the best and most sought appetizer or side for any occasion like parties or snacking any day. It is served with any sauce or can have as it is.

Chicken lollipop recipe is a great tasting appetizer for all parties. The term lollipop means the meat is cut loose from the bone end and pushed down, creating a lollipop appearance. It has a lot of variations based on your taste buds. I’m going to show you my favourite method of making it, which is super easy and quick.
My recipe is not of Indo-Chinese style with a sweet, saucy style which you get at a restaurant. Mine is crisp on the outside and juicy and tender inside. This recipe calls for simple ingredients that are available in the pantry. You can alternate with any spice mix as per your taste.
If you prefer a saucy version, an additional step of making an easy Chinese sauce mix is prepared and tossed with the fried chicken lollipop.

How to make chicken lollipop
The easiest way to prepare this dish is to take a mixing bowl and add turmeric powder, chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, all-purpose flour, cornflour, and salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients to make a paste, adding sufficient water to a paste consistency. The marinade is ready. Add the chicken lollipop and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Then fry it on medium hot oil and serve as it is or with any sauce you prefer.
Let’s see step-by step preparation of the recipe.
In a bowl, add all the ingredients except the chicken lollipop.
Add little water and mix the ingredients to get a fine paste consistency. Now add the chicken lollipop to the marinade.
Gently mix the chicken to the marinade and let it sit for thirty minutes. The more the marination time takes, the more flavours and taste increase.
In a frying pan or kadhai, add oil on a medium-hot flame. Shallow fry the chicken for four to five minutes or until it is done.
Transfer the fried lollipop onto the oil absorbent paper and let it rest for a minute or two before serving.
Garnish it with onion rings and coriander with any sauce as per your taste. I always prefer it as it is. Yes, I love to feel the crispiness of the chicken lollipop in every bite.
Variations
Using spice mix is up to your choice. If you do not have Kashmiri chili powder, skip it and use only chili powder. Kashmiri chili powder gives its bright red colour to the chicken. Also, you can alternate water and add yogurt or curd for making masala paste.
