Let me say how this name of the recipe is so different with a name of a place! Pallipalayam is a Town in Nammakal District of Tamil Nadu where this yummy easy dish originated. Like Chettinad Chicken masala this Pallipalayam chicken fry is equally famous in and around Tamil Nadu.

This recipe calls for Shallots /Pearl Onion,so no substitute please. The taste of Pallipalayam Chicken Fry/Easy Chicken Fry is so delectable and scrumptious mainly because of Shallots and lots of Dry Chillies. Boneless chicken is ideal for this recipe. Get ready with all the ingredients required.

Heat oil in a kadhai on a medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add cut Shallots and dry chillies in the oil and saute well.

When shallots are translucent, add chicken, turmeric powder, curry leaves and salt to taste and mix well.

Now add 3/4 cup water and cook with lid covered.

Stir occasionally and let it cook for 15 mins until tender and dry. Finally garnish it with curry leaves and transfer into a bowl.

Yummy ,easy and Simple Pallipalayam Chicken Fry/Easy Chicken Fry is ready to devour as a Starter or Side dish for Sambhar rice ,Rasam rice or any Flavoured rice.
