Easy corn patties or cutlet or Tikki is a crispy snack that contains only few ingredients and a dash of oil. These patties are flavoursome and delicious, are perfect for snacking and sides anytime.
These easy corn patties are so simple to make in the air fryer. You can make it on the stovetop on a griddle pan, shallow fry, or deep fry too. The choice of frying is yours.
Making these corn patties differs for each individual. Yes, some like to make it into ball shape like Arancini, and some like patty shape. I prefer making the latter shape.

How to prepare Easy Corn Patties/ Cutlet/ Tikki in Air fryer?
Firstly, wash and boil potatoes in a pressure cooker or any method you follow at home. Then, finely chop onions and green chilies. Then take the desired quantity of sweet kernels and clean it well on running water. You can use store-bought packed sweet corn kernels too.
In a wide bowl, mash potato with a potato masher or fork. Make sure it is finely mashed without any lumps. Then add sweet corn kernels, onions, green chilies, and salt to taste. Mix well with clean hands until it is evenly combined.
Meanwhile, mix two teaspoons of cornflour and one teaspoon of all-purpose flour with little water. To it, add salt and freshly crushed or powdered peppercorns. Keep the corn starch batter aside.
Preheat the air fryer at 180* C for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, make round out of the corn potato dough into equal-sized balls. Flatten the balls into a patty shape and gently dip into the liquid corn starch batter. Then, dab the bread crumbs onto the patty and place it on a plate.
Place it onto the air fryer basket and smear oil onto the patty. Air fry for ten minutes. After the said time finishes, flip the corn patty and again smear oil and continue air fry for ten minutes or until it turns golden in colour. Every air fryer is different. So the time may vary. Follow the instruction manual according to it.
How to serve easy corn patties/ cutlet/ Tikki
Serve it hot with mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, or any green chutney. It will also taste so good as it is. Try your favourite condiment as per the taste of your palate.

Boil medium-sized potatoes in a pressure cooker for eight to ten minutes. Drain water, and peel the skin and keep it aside.
Now mash the potatoes with a potato masher or fork. Make sure it is mashed well without any lumps.
To the potatoes, add sweet corn kernels, onions, green chilies, fresh coriander or cilantro leaves (finely chopped), and salt to taste.
Mix the vegetables with a clean hand and check salt. It is where you can adjust the salt.
Make even-sized round balls with the patty mixture. Mix all-purpose flour, cornflour, pepper, and salt with water and make it into a slurry mixture, as shown in the picture. Also, spread bread crumbs on a plate and ready with the preparation.
Flatten the corn patty and dip into the slurry, and gently dab bread crumbs as shown.
Preheat the air fryer to 180* C for five minutes. Then place the patties as shown without crowding them. Smear oil with a silicon brush and air fry for ten minutes.
Flip the other side and again smear oil. Air fry for ten more minutes until the patties turn golden in colour.
