Baby corn fritters in an air fryer are an easy recipe to make with few ingredients. It is an easy recipe to make for any party or gathering. It is also a perfect snack for kids after school.

This is my first air fryer recipe in my blog. My explorations of trying recipes in air fryer started and, you would see more recipes in my blog space.

Let’s discuss

What is an air fryer?

  • Cooks with hot air
  • fry, grill, roast, bake, and more
  • It has easy-to-operate control knobs with temperature and timer control.

How it works?

  • The air fryer cooks evenly by circulating hot air over the food. Hence, there is no need for little oil for frying. It makes the food a lot healthier and also tastes good.
  • It has timer and temperature control knobs which help to control the type of food to cook.
  • Pull out crumb basket with safety interlocking switch adds safety while using.
  • Smoke and oil filters help to prevent odor when cooking.

Ingredients needed for this recipe

  • baby corns
  • Ginger Garlic Paste
  • gram flour ( besan flour )
  • cornflour
  • chilli powder
  • bread crumbs
  • salt

How to make Baby corn fritters?

It is one of the easy and simple recipes to make within few minutes. All you need is fresh baby corn and few ingredients. Firstly, boil baby corns for four to five minutes. Let it becomes tender and soft and, so it helps the masalas to coat well on the baby corns. Secondly, mix all the ingredients except the bread crumbs. The wet boiled baby corn is sufficient to hold the masalas on it. If the masalas are dry, add a teaspoon of water and mix until it evenly coats the baby corn. Finally crumb coat and keep it aside.

Preheat the air fryer to 180 Celsius. Preheating the air fryer is important like an oven and helps to cook fast and crisp. Place an aluminium foil or parchment paper in the crumb basket (optional) and arrange the corn pieces. Do not overload the baby corns in the basket. Arrange as shown in the picture. Smear oil (gives nice golden colour) on top of the baby corn and air fry it for 15 to 17 minutes. During halfway of air frying (after 8 to 9 minutes), switch off the air fryer and turn and dab some oil on the pieces and continue air frying. That’s it! Baby corn fritters are ready to serve.

Let’s see step by step preparation of Baby corn fritters in air fryer.

Select fresh baby corns and wash them thoroughly. Cut baby corn into half and keep it aside. Meanwhile, add water to a pan or kadhai and let it boil on high heat.

Add little salt and sliced baby corn to the boiling water and let it cook for two to three minutes. Let it not overcook, else it loses its crispness when air frying. Drain in a colander and keep it aside.

In a bowl, add gram flour, cornflour, chilli powder, salt and Ginger Garlic Paste and mix it until it is well combined.

To it, add drained baby corns and gently mix it. If the mix is slightly dry, add a teaspoon of water until the masalas are well coated.

Now, place a piece of aluminium foil in the crumb basket and preheat the air fryer at 180 C without fail. On a plate, add bread crumbs and roll the baby corn until it is well coated. Roll all the baby corn on bread crumbs and keep it aside.
