Coffee Sauce recipe is one of the easiest and simple recipe to make in a few minutes . Coffee (cafephile) lovers like me would not say NO for this flavourful coffee sauce for any reason.

This recipe is a simple and easy enough to prepare in no time. Yes, it takes only 10 minutes to prepare this sauce. Simple and basic ingredients like instant coffee powder/granule ,sugar, butter and cornflour is all needed for this recipe . In my previous blog post Easy Moist Coffee Cake the topping for the cake was coffee sauce. As I mentioned in my last blog post ,today I’m sharing this easy peasy recipe with you all. I use coffee sauce as a topping for desserts like ice cream, cakes, panna cotta etc. I bet even non coffee lovers would love this recipe and make frequently for desserts.

How to make Coffee Sauce Recipe?

To make this recipe ,you don’t need any fancy gadgets except for a gas top , bowl and ladle or spatula. The whole cooking time needs just 10 minutes from start to finish the recipe. Firstly , boil 1 cup of water with sugar, instant coffee powder (granules)and butter together for 2 to 3 minutes until sugar dissolve completely . Secondly, mix cornflour with 1 cup of water to a paste consistency. And ,finally add cornflour paste to the boiling coffee sugar mixture and stir well . Stir until coffee mixture starts to thicken and coats the back of ladle or spatula. Its done ! Isn’t it easy ? Yes, flavourful simple easy coffee sauce is complete under 10 minutes to top any flavoured cake and desserts . I topped on a Easy Moist Coffee Cake and garnished with glazed cherries and mint leaves.

Now lets jump to the step by step preparation of Coffee sauce recipe.

Boil 1 cup water with sugar ,coffee powder (granule) and butter together for 2 to 3 minutes.

Now add cornflour mixture( cornflour powder mixed with 1 cup water) to the boiling coffee syrup and stir well .

When Coffee mixture starts to thicken and coats the back of ladle switch off the flame and remove from gas top and let it cool completely.

Top delicious coffee sauce on any cake and garnish as you wish. A delicious scrumptious coffee flavoured cake ,topped with simple coffee sauce is ready to devour. Coffee sauce goes well on cake, ice creams, puddings ,panna cotta etc.

How to store Coffee Sauce?

Store coffee sauce in an airtight container( preferably a glass jar)and refrigerate . It stays good for a month or more if it is properly stored. Use dry spoon for serving . You can reheat coffee sauce and serve warm too. Serve coffee sauce as a topping for desserts like ice cream,cake or pudding .

Do not use freshly brewed coffee . Use good quality instant coffee powder/granule.

Do not use hot coffee sauce for topping cake. Let it cool completely or else cake become soggy .

Store excess or fresh coffee sauce in an airtight container for later use.

Always use dry spoon for using coffee sauce .

You can warm refrigerated coffee sauce to make it thin and relish with your favourite dessert.

  • 2 tablespoon instant coffee powder ( granules )
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoon cornflour – 2 tablespoon ( dissolved in 1 cup water )
  • ¾ cup sugar

      Approximately 1 3/4cup, which is sufficient for a 9″cake.Had some leftovers too.
