I never realized this Peanut butter is so easy to prepare at home until two years before. It’s a straight forward recipe with little tips to follow to achieve this creamy smooth spread.
Four Ingredients To Make Homemade Peanut Butter
- Peanut
- Honey
- Rock salt
- Oil
Isn’t that simple ingredients? Yes, if you have these four ingredients and know the tips, I bet you won’t go back to the store-bought Peanut butter. After learning how to make Peanut butter, I didn’t nail it for the first time. Though it is a simple recipe, you should have patience plus the tricks to achieve.
Important Tips To Follow
- Always roast raw shelled peanut for four to five minutes and remove the skin by rubbing with both palms.
- Roast until it changes to light brown colour. The more you roast, the nut turns black and, you may not achieve the perfect Peanut Butter colour.
- When pulsing peanut, do not run the food processor continuously as the processor turns hot and, nut starts to release oil before it is smooth.
- When the peanut is smooth and creamy, add honey and pulse once or twice only. The peanut mixture turns into clumps. Do not worry! Now add a teaspoon of oil and pulse it once. Adding 1 tablespoon of oil helps peanut butter from seizing up and becoming thick. It helps to achieve smooth creamy spreadable Homemade Peanut butter.
- Always do not run the food processor to high speed. Start from low speed and end with medium speed.

Lets see how to make Peanut Butter with step by step Preparation
On a low medium flame roast peanut for five minutes and keep it aside. Let it cool completely. When it is cooled, rub the peanut with both the palms and remove skin as it is shown in the picture.
The colour of the roasted peanut should be light brown and crisp.
Pulse the roasted peanut coarsely on a low speed in a food processer or electric mixer grinder. Using a spatula scrap the side of the jar and mix the coarse peanut powder.
Run the mixer on a medium speed for a minute until you achieve this consistency. Give a minute or two before you continue to grind the peanut.
Now add two pinch of rock salt and pulse 30 seconds.
The peanut butter is smooth and thick in consistency. For extra taste add 2 teaspoon of honey and pulse twice until honey combines well.
After adding honey the consistency will become slightly thick. Do not worry! To attain smooth creamy texture add one tablespoon of oil( flavourless oil).
Pulse it for twice or thrice until you get smooth creamy flowing Peanut butter.
Transfer the homemade peanut butter into an airtight container for up to 3 to 4 weeks in the refrigerator.
